The Coney Detroit Concert reviews
Good Combination of Talents
I enjoyed George's material and found him very funny. Some lightweights might find it a little spicy at times, but that's not an issue for me. The Coney should play more of his 70s stuff, although what he played was really good. His wife did a great job on the drums with the few songs she played, and all the musicians played with a high energy level, seemingly enjoying themselves. Tony, one of the singers, was especially personable to the crowd besides having a good singing voice, I thought.
After the show, we had trouble getting back to the hotel from the bottom lot where we parked. We ended up in downtown Morrison, where there were no left turn signs on the streets leading to I-70. We eventually made it back, but I'm sure there's a better way. I also wish people would leave the area to smoke their cigarettes and weed. I don't mind if you smoke either one, just don't make the rest of us breathe it.
